Partial bandwagon effects and local interactions

چکیده
We consider partial bandwagon properties in the context of coordination games to capture the idea of weak network externalities. We then study a local interactions model where agents play a coordination game following a noisy best-reply process. We identify conditions such that Globally Pairwise Risk Dominant strategies are selected. Examples include arbitrary 3× 3 coordination games and n×n supermodular games. A comparison with the global interactions benchmark shows that the nature of interactions might alter the long-run results themselves, and not only the speed of convergence. We also illustrate that the simultaneous coexistence of conventions is possible for games with at least 5 strategies.

Exploring Social Media Adoption in Australian Local Government Organizations
Local government organizations have recently been attracted to social media applications to improve services to their communities. Yet, limited scholarly attention has been devoted to understanding social media adoption across local government. This study addresses this shortcoming by exploring the factors that drive the adoption of social media within Australian local government. The findings ...
متن کاملWhat motivates bandwagon voting behavior: Altruism or a desire to win?
This paper surveys the literature on psychological and strategic mental processes of bandwagon behavior, discusses the literature of bandwagon behavior in the context of the two different types, bandwagon vote choices and bandwagon abstention effects, and examines the rationality of otherregarding bandwagon vote choices. Key experimental results are reported to investigate the extent that bandw...
متن کاملExact Solution for Nonlinear Local Fractional Partial Differential Equations
In this work, we extend the existing local fractional Sumudu decomposition method to solve the nonlinear local fractional partial differential equations. Then, we apply this new algorithm to resolve the nonlinear local fractional gas dynamics equation and nonlinear local fractional Klein-Gordon equation, so we get the desired non-differentiable exact solutions. The steps to solve the examples a...
متن کاملEffect of scatter coincidences, partial volume, positron range and non-colinearity on the quantification of FDOPA Patlak analysis
Introduction: The key characteristics of positron emission tomography (PET) are its quantitative capability and its sensitivity, which allow the in vivo imaging of biochemical interactions with small amounts of tracer concentrations. Therefore, accurate quantification is important. However, it can be sensitive to several physical factors. The aim of this investigation is the assessment of the e...
متن کاملBandwagon, underdog, and political competition: the uni-dimensional case
The present paper studies the Hotelling-Downs and the Wittman-Roemer models of two-party competition when voter conformism is present and the policy space is uni-dimensional. We consider two types of voter conformism, bandwagon and underdog, and study their effects on political equilibrium of the two models. Even if voter conformism is present, the Hotelling-Downs parties propose an identical p...
